Change a life.” This is the spirit of Write for Rights.

Sometimes, a letter can change someone’s life. That is the idea behind Amnesty International’s Write for Rights.

In 2001, a few Amnesty members in Poland wrote letters for 24 hours straight in support of people whose rights had been violated. More than twenty years later, it happens all over the world — but it still works the same way. One person, writing one letter.

Every year, from November to February, supporters around the world take part in Write for Rights, with most activities taking place around December 10 — Human Rights Day. Together, they write millions of letters in solidarity with people whose human rights have been violated.

For more than 20 years, this global letter-writing campaign has brought people together to stand up for human rights. Today, it is the world’s largest human rights campaign and has helped change the lives of more than 100 people.

#section-4008a6fc{background-image:url("https://amnestyhk.org/en-us/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/fdff28-770x710.jpg")}@media
